Decorative solar lights
Creative garden lighting without electricity
Which decorative solar lights are popular in the garden?
Spheres and cubes** are still among the most popular shapes for flower beds, patios and the like. With modern functions such as color change, these decorative solar lamps light up in your favorite colors and take garden lighting to a new, impressive and personal level.
In addition to globe lights and cube shapes, earth spikeschains of lights and lanterns create our glowing outdoor paradise.
How do solar lights work?
Thanks to the photovoltaic effect, solar energy is converted into electrical energy via the solar panel of the decorative solar light and stored in the battery** of the light. The light's twilight sensor (or a set lighting time) regulates that the light does not switch on during the day, but that the solar lamp only switches from storage mode to lighting mode after dark.
A tip: As more sun means more energy, the panel should ideally face south, always be kept free of dust and dirt and uncovered by leaves, for example.
How long do decorative solar lamps need to charge?
Normally, the sunlight on a sunny day is sufficient to fully charge the battery. Only on the day of commissioning will the battery require between 2 and 10 days to charge and deliver maximum battery performance.
On cloudy days, on the other hand, and especially in the darker months of the year, the batteries may not be able to charge fully. However, the solar lights should be brought inside anyway, especially in frost and other severe weather conditions, as very few products are designed for this.
How long do decorative solar lamps need to charge?
Among other things, this depends heavily on the quality of the built-in battery and the solar energy absorbed, i.e. the battery status. Therefore, the lighting duration can vary between 5 and 20 hours. As a rule, however, it is 8 to 10 hours for decorative solar lamps.
