Verner Panton's Flowerpot table lamp: Design classic from 1969
This simple and yet fascinating table lamp is without question a design classic. It was designed in the late sixties by the Danish architect and designer Verner Panton. His designs, whether furniture or lamps, are considered style-setting for the 20th century.
The lampshade of the table lamp consists of two hemispheres made of metal - one large and one small. They are placed so that they direct the light perfectly - no glare and yet the best light distribution in the area under the lamp. The monochrome colour scheme and the rounded appearance are now reminiscent of the style of the 1960s and 1970s, but do not seem old-fashioned at all, but much rather timeless.
The manufacturer of these lights is &Tradition, a Danish company that aims to include in its portfolio and produce both timeless, traditional and modern designs that are potential icons of the future.
