With USB cable and dimmer - flickering LED designer table lamp My New Flame Its invention dates back more than 5,000 years and the candle still exerts an unrivalled fascination on people. For designer Ingo Maurer, this fascination was so powerful that he dedicated one of his famous luminaire designs to the candle. The My New Flame LED table lamp combines the unmistakable flickering of what is probably the oldest light source with modern technology. The centrepiece of this designer light sits enthroned on a Massive metal base: a circuit board that is usually only found in the Innes of electronic devices and which is truly not known for its optical design qualities. There are 128 small LEDs on each side of the circuit board in the head of the luminaire, which together reproduce the flickering of a real Flamme in a deceptively realistic way. The brightness of each LED is 6 lumens, but it should be noted that all LEDs never light up at the same time. In fact, the flickering of a real candle recorded on video served as a model for the production and programming of this unique light. Well camouflaged in the middle of the circuit board is a small button switch that can even be used to dimm the LEDs to create an even cosier ambience. The actual on/off switch is located in the base of the light right next to the connection for the USB cable. My New Flame can be set up in any location completely independently of the mains supply, provided it is equipped with four AA/Mignon NiMH rechargeable batteries. The rechargeable batteries (not included) can be recharged after use via the 150 cm long USB cable included in the scope of delivery. Alternatively, the light can be operated via the USB cable.
