The classic for glare-free lighting by Poul Henningsen - Glass pendant light PH 3 1/2-3

Designed in 1925/26, the lampshade in the three-shade system, which is made of three-layered, mouth-blown opal glass, is characterised by the different surface finishes of the glass. While the upper side is designed with a glossy finish, the inner side is matt sandblasted, thus enabling a soft and gentle light distribution. The three glasses of the shade are curved and arranged in such a way that glare-free illumination, e.g. of dining tables or the room, is guaranteed. The suspension of the lamp is refined with metallized brass and emphasizes the shine of the shade.

Poul Henningsen has not only been a writer, actor and architect, he has concentrated his professional activities on lighting design and has designed numerous luminaires for the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, which put light to the fore and had a positive effect on human well-being. Both the designer Henningsen and the manufacturer Louis Poulsen followed the principle that design gives form to light. It is above all the harmonious balance between craftsmanship and innovation that makes the luminaires shine uniquely, applying Henningsen's theory of light.
