Firstly the fixing and remote control instructions were in German. The four fixing holes for the base didn't allow sufficient adjustment to allow alignment with the room, although two were slotted. The diagram showed only two with one slotted. i had to file slots in all four.
The base had to be mounted along side the existing ceiling terminal block and as there were no means of getting the terminal wires into the base I had to mount the base unit on spacers to enable the wires to enter via a central hole. The terminal block for the wires were not the normal screw type fixing but i worked it out in the end. The next problem was attaching the heavy light unit to the base via the two slots in the base and connecting the cable from the base to the light. As there is a large overlap of the light relative to the base one has to work by feel only. This requires two people.The attachment screw were very short so i replaced these with longer ones and also chamfered the start of the entry slots to make location easier. As I'm fairly elderly and working at the top of a step ladder with my wife I couldn't fix the heavy light to the base. I therefore called for the services of a younger friend and finally the light was fixed.
I contacted Customer services to try to get a copy of the instructions in English but they weren't at all helpful. I resorted to sending a copy to a friend in Switzerland for translation.
This light is very expensive and i didn't expect the installation to be so difficult.
