The advantages of spike lights with motion detectors include conserving the battery, saving electricity and, of course, additional security. Last but not least, motion detectors simply provide convenience, since you no longer have to switch the light on manually.
Which bulbs are the most suitable?

Which IP code should spike lights have?
Just as with other outdoor lights, you have to consider the IP code that your spike lights require, because you certainly don’t want to have to worry about them every time it rains. Since ground spike lights are positioned on the ground, and rather exposed, they should have an IP code of IP44 or above – higher is always better, but you should never choose anything lower for this type of light.
With an IP code of IP44, your light is protected against water spray and foreign bodies larger than one millimetre. For more information about IP codes, please refer to the following table:
