Snowflake pendant lamp: detailed bamboo lamp by David Trubridge
The English-born and now New Zealand-based furniture and lighting designer David Trubridge came up with the idea for this fantastic pendant lamp on a trip to Antarctica, where he was invited as a guest artist. The shade is designed from repeating geometric patterns of the shape of a snowflake. The principle of the lamp's construction is the same as that of Trubridge's classic design Coral. He also used this thin bamboo veneer for Coral, which is how the soft curvature is created when the shade is assembled. David Trubridge not only attaches great importance to sustainability when selecting the materials for his creations, he also wants to ensure the lowest possible CO2 consumption when shipping his products. That is why the Snowflake pendant lamp is also delivered in individual parts. Precise instructions for easy assembly are included.
The aesthetic Snowflake attracts attention when switched on or off. For example, it is excellent as atmospheric table lighting, but works wonderfully in any place as general or area lighting.
