The success story began when in the 1920s the architect P. V. Jensen Klint made the first pleated shade for a petroleum lamp, which he designed himself. From then on, the Le Klint family worked together on the refinement of this shade, which became a traditional gift for relatives and friends at that time. The design of the lampshade 107 was created by Esben Klint and due to its closed shape, it is perfectly suitable for mounting in high rooms, because there is no glare. Still today, the shade of the pendant lamp 107 is the emblem of the trademark of Le Klint.The company Le Klint was founded in 1943 in Copenhagen, where a shop was opened at the same time, where the lamps were exhibited and also sold. This shop can still be found at the same address in Copenhagen and the luminaire creations of the first years are still very popular.
