Plancton designer pendant lamp for outdoor use
The Italian luminaire manufacturer Karman attaches great importance to well thought-out concepts, high-quality workmanship and special lighting effects. With these characteristics, the Plancton LED outdoor pendant luminaire can also score points.
Designer Matteo Ugolini was inspired by the micro-organisms that are omnipresent in the sea, the plankton. The floating character of their locomotion is realised in the pendant lamp by means of frayed fibre ends at the lower edge of the shade. The material used is fibreglass, which Plancton processes into a dense fabric. The white hemispherical shade, open at the bottom, is suitable as a luminous accent in outdoor areas and also provides direct lighting on the veranda or terrace. The 5 m long cable allows a suitable choice of pendant height by winding it over beams etc.
