Foscarini Tress piccola fibreglass wall light
The characteristic feature of all the products of the Tress family from Foscarini is the braided structure of the lampshade. The semicircular lampshade of the Tress wall light is also made of high quality fibreglass tape, which has been woven by hand around a cylinder to create an artistically braided form. Individual tapes, wound diagonally from top to bottom or from bottom to top, break the otherwise fairly symmetrical horizontal gradient and create differently-shaped openings for the light.
The light source hidden behind the lampshade not only gently shines its light up- and downwards on the wall but also through the intersections of the braided work into the room. This creates an atmospheric, play of light and shadow on the surrounding walls.
The Tress wall light was designed by Marc Sadler not only to enrich private interior spaces but also for commercial use, for example, in hotel corridors.
