The 12-bulb hanging light Birdie is reminiscent of a flock of birds
Twelve winged halogen lamps are attached to confused and tangled wires and cables which come together in the centre of the light and wind up the robust suspension system. The hanging light Birdie designed by the Munich-based lighting designer Ingo Maurer stands symbolically for a flock of birds, as real birdies also go off in all directions if they are scared up. The wings of the light bulbs designed as little birds are made of handmade goose feathers and give Birdie the necessary lightness. Thus, Birdie does not necessarily have to shine to achieve its effect as a designer piece. When it is turned on, the matt bulbs provide an even, pleasant light.
If you have the necessary space and interior in your home, Birdie will look very good there as a striking light fitting and decoration. However, it is also suitable for providing special lighting in hotels and food service establishments where a slightly more unusual interior design style is favoured.
The light bulbs are produced specifically for Ingo Maurer GmbH and are an exception according to EU Regulation 244/2009. They can be used exclusively in lights from the Birds series. Two spare bulbs are included.
