Variably adjustable Tolomeo floor lamp
The Tolomeo floor lamp, designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina for the Italian lighting company Artemide, has a special mechanism that can be used to adjust its height and its depth. For this mechanism, Michele De Lucchi was inspired by the trabucchi, the fishing machines used by the Apulian fishermen, when creating the Tolomeo table lamp in 1986. In these trabucchi, the poles to which the fishing net is attached are held by ropes. De Lucchi put this principle, that you can use a lever arm and a cable to suspend a pole, into practice in his Tolomeo light.
Its timeless appearance also makes the Tolomeo floor lamp into an interior design element for any style.
