The design of this LED pendant lamp, which is almost invisible when switched off, comes from none other than the co-founder of the lighting company Artemide, Ernesto Gismondi (1931-2020). The studied aerospace engineer dedicated himself to the development and production of lighting since the early 1960s and laid the foundation for today's Artemide Group with Sergio Mazza, which is now active worldwide and has already received many awards for its high-quality design products.

The special feature of Discovery Square is not only the unusual design, in which the filigree-looking shade, consisting of a narrow aluminium frame and a large, square diffuser made of technopolymer, almost seems to float in the air, but also the lighting technology. The LEDs are concealed as a strip in the narrow frame and flood the entire shade from the side. In doing so, they provide homogeneous, glare-free illumination of the surroundings.
