Original 1227 LED table lamp in a typical Anglepoise® design
The Original 1227 table lamp is based on the Anglepoise® original from the 1930s, and this is reflected in the name.
Just as with the early models, the body of Original 1227 is made of cast iron with chrome-plated fittings. The light comes with a clamp that is screwed to the table to save space. The tried-and-tested constant tension spring mechanism makes this light source very flexibly adjustable. The original was also used as a basis with respect to the colour. A practical appliance for your day-to-day work in the office or in the workshop.
The original design originates from George Carwardine, an English designer who initially developed shock absorbers for the automotive industry and then used his knowledge for the development of this flexibly adjustable and optimally balanced work light. The Original 1227 table lamp came onto the market in 1935 and soon became indispensable for a number of workspaces.
